Our MD Dogs puppy, named Rooney, began her training in August of 2020, and is learning to become a Diabetic Alert Dog! By donating to Rooney’s training, you will help provide an individual with type 1 diabetes the ability to receive a trained Diabetic Alert Dog, regardless of their financial situation.
About Rooney: Rooney is learning to be a Diabetic Alert Dog, alerting to low and high glucose levels which will be a lifesaving skill for someone in need.
About the program MD Dogs is piloting a dual purpose program to train a Diabetic Alert Dog for an individual in need, as well as train a trainer, which will grow the Diabetic Alert Dog community and help to provide additional trained Diabetic Alert Dogs in the future.
